Otter space: games & community is currently hiring a part-time Events Assistant (20 hours per week). We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, and is passionate about providing quality events to the local community. Love of board games, trading card games, or role playing games is a huge plus! The role involves:
-Running and organising children's events
-Running or helping with other events as needed
-Helping customers learn how to play games
-Posting events on our website and other platforms
-Advertising events on social media
-Making and distributing posters and flyers
-Working with other organisations and facilitators
-General shop duties such as helping customers with sales, entering inventory, cleaning and tidying, and opening and closing procedures.
The working hours are:
Wednesday - Friday from 12:30pm-5:30pm
Saturdays from 5pm-10pm
This is a set schedule, with extra hours available to cover additional events or staff shortages.
The position requires garda vetting that needs to be completed prior to starting the role.
Starting pay is €14.15 / hour, with a 1 year temporary contract with a possibility of extension.
