Consiglio
Consiglio is a fast-paced card game of subtle influence, calculated risks, and shifting loyalties set in a fictional Renaissance city inspired by Venice at its peak. Players assume the roles of ambitious nobles, guildmasters, and social climbers vying for power within the Grand Council — the Consiglio. In this world of masked intentions and whispered deals, only the most cunning can rise to the top.
Gameplay centers around playing cards in ascending order, with the option to bluff by playing a card face-down and declaring its rank. Players may challenge each other's claims, but doing so comes with risk: expose a liar, and they must pick up the stack — but if you wrongly accuse, the penalty is yours. Matching the previously played number unlocks powerful special effects, such as stealing cards, skipping rivals, or manipulating the hand of fate.
The goal is simple: Be the first player to play all of your cards and emerge as the dominant force in the council chambers. With no tokens, boards, or set-up time, Consiglio offers sharp strategic play, social deduction, and elegant interaction in a compact format.
